Last night at work, I got to snuggle with a healthy animal, for the very first time since Raja’s passing.
It felt like a weight was temporarily lifted off my shoulders. For the first time in a very, very, long time, the world melted away for just a little while, and it was just a ball of fur, a pair of huuuuge bright kitty eyes, and me.
I needed that.
Today, my parents and I bundled up once AGAIN to go shovel the driveway AGAIN. (It snowed AGAIN.) My dad giggled around in the snow, my mom and I trudged a bit more, and we got the job done, out in the quiet. And I caught myself thinking: I’m actually going to miss these times next winter.
